Private coaching lessons with Ursula Szkolak via Zoom!

When the pandemic hit and I started teaching ballet online, I had already been teaching dance for over 10 years. I thought there was no way that teaching dance could be moved online. Boy, was I wrong!

Over the past year in teaching online I have discovered how much I can see and correct virtually. Seeing my dancers flourish in gaining strength, co-ordination and confidence has been a wonderfully satisfying journey for me as a teacher. It is a testament to the adaptability of us as dancers and humans that where there's a will, there's a way!

If you are looking to gain insight into your personal technical strengths and weaknesses, go deeper into ballet theory, or if you have struggled with injuries and want to find out how your technique could be working against you, I can help you.

I have limited timeslots available for private coaching, so please email or message to find a time that works.

Testimonials and Recommendations

"Ursula is hands-down the best teacher of ballet technique that I have ever had. She approaches ballet from a practical, biomechanics point of view. She is continually learning and striving to figure out technique that makes the most physical sense. She has an incredible eye and I am frequently amazed at how much she can see and correct via Zoom - I had no idea I could learn so much from home. I trained intensely for a career in ballet years ago and have my share of body ills as a result. I recently started working with Ursula and she’s helped me identify and start correcting the long-standing technical faults that were perpetuating my injuries. My hips now feel more free than they ever have in ballet class, and I am safely re-beginning pointe after having given it up in despair 20 years ago after a career-stopping ankle injury. I am so energized, because finally someone understands! and is keen to work with me to figure out how MY body can dance. And she’s such a ballet geek, so it’s just plain fun to work with her!"

"Ursula is a wonderful teacher. She is encouraging enough that I can stay positive and motivated, but she also pushes me to work hard so I continue to progress. Even through Zoom classes, she is able to pay attention to the little details that make such a big difference in my ballet practice. She is very knowledgeable and can explain ballet technique in a way that makes sense. I started ballet a few times in my life but always gave up because it felt unattainable. Ursula takes me where I am and knows exactly what I need to improve. And she always makes sure to include beautiful choreographies that I can dance to in my small living room. Now I am hooked - and my daughter too! She started taking Ursula's classes after seeing me dance at home :)"

"I have come to learn ballet as an adult and Ursula’s Tip 2 Toes course was extremely helpful and inspiring and so enjoyable to take. Ursula’s warm and personalized approach was so comprehensive and also specific to the needs and development of all of us in the class.bNot only did this 10 week course help me learn more deeply what is involved in developing further in ballet, but also the information and experience has been so useful to other areas of my life  and general health. I am excited to take it forward to all my future ballet classes!"

"My daughter has been taking online ballet classes for past three months. Yes, it can be done remotely and it's just as enjoyable and effective as in person. Ursula is dedicated, passionate and goes above and beyond for her students. Each class is a unique experience and Ursula does well, keeping even the little chatty girls engaged and eager to learn and dance. It's been a wonderful experience, my daughter looks forward to her class every week..."
